The Site Controller will report to the VP of Finance and Head of Administration. Serve as a key member of the local management team and as a business partner to process owners throughout the organization. The mission will consist of providing the corporate entity with timely, accurate, transparent and insightful financial reports while providing local management with useful business intelligence which enables them to make better strategic and tactical decisions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Support in establishing full monthly closings in accordance with US local GAAP and IFRS requirements
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal reporting requirements
• Monthly Reporting to local BU management and to Corporate Headquarters
• Ensure ongoing training and education of local staff (finance and technical) in all aspects of bookkeeping and controlling (forecasts, ad-hoc analysis etc.)
• Strive for continual improvement of all finance processes in order to get faster and more accurate information for the US Management to direct and support their business activities
• Stimulate behaviors across the organization to achieve strategic and financial targets
• Balance capabilities, resources, costs and service levels to meet the Finance organization’s responsibilities
• Develop and advise US management on cost optimization strategies. Advise how to generate value by working with limited capital employed
• Using appropriate and meaningful analysis, help the BU Management to fully understand the performance of the US business
• Proactively provide financial analysis across the entire value chain to support the BU Management in achieving financial goals and targets, anticipate future events and make appropriate recommendations
• Bring transparency to the numbers by making evident how the findings have been derived and how they have been reported (e.g. Gross margins)
• Support profitable growth strategy and help reduce risk e.g. by proposing and monitoring inventory optimization strategies
• Act as the “right hand” to the General Manager to objectively provide financial data
• Act as an independent internal consultant that interacts with all members of local management, while maintaining confidentiality with high level business information
• Ensure that all data delivered is accurate, thoroughly analyzed and fully plausible before sending it to Corporate
• Support the proper management of the net working capital for the US activities (focusing on inventory and billing & collection process of A/R)
• Act as an interface between accounting department and operational staff for all financial topics
• Actively participate in regular US Finance team meetings
• Strive to further improve projects with the accounting software and establish safe procedures to maintain the integrity of the information in the ERP system at any time
• Interact with project team to track project performance, understand the project cycle and associated costs, and to identify and decrease negative variations
• Help lead important projects, such as improving transparency, accuracy and speed of management information and replacing spreadsheet-based tools with fully-integrated ERP-based processes.
• Work with methodologies that help focus on the right business drivers and metrics
• Actively provide improvement ideas, identify business opportunities and support management with effective business decision-making
• Provide North America with timely and useful reports and analysis


Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a highly-positive attitude, collaborative and team oriented
• Practical experience in Finance and Controlling, with proven successful assumption of similar responsibilities in a listed multinational company
• A high sense of urgency, strong result orientation and the ability to adhere to tight timeframes
• A willingness to travel occasionally, both internationally and domestically
• Proven, hands-on knowledge of accounting and reporting systems (SAP, Hyperion or similar)
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, advanced knowledge of the remainder of Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of different federal and state financial regulations
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
• Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects within tight timeframes and to produce high quality work under very demanding circumstances
• Excellent communication skills: ability to foster a climate in which conflicts are openly discussed and to communicate well on all levels of the hierarchy as well as the ability to remain professional and resolute in challenging situations
• In depth knowledge of the organization’s business, processes, activities, products and a general understanding of the technology, markets and customer base
• Demonstrated sensibility in cross-cultural communications and cooperation on an international level (Europe, Asia)
• Strong customer and detail orientation



Education and/or Experience:

• 10 to 15 years of accounting and finance experience gained in a manufacturing environment
• BS or BA in a relevant discipline required, CPA preferred
